Description

Witch Hat Brownie Cookies are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween, combining rich brownie flavor with a chocolate kiss on top to resemble a witch’s hat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 package chocolate kisses
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup candy corn (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet.
  10. Once cooled, pipe chocolate frosting around the base of the chocolate kiss to create a hat effect. Optionally, add candy corn around the base for decoration.

Notes

  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • These cookies can be made ahead of time and frozen for later use.
