Description

These Vampire Bite Halloween Cupcakes are a spooky and delicious treat perfect for Halloween celebrations, featuring a rich chocolate flavor and a sinister twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup red gel food coloring
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate syrup for decoration
  • Red candy melts for fangs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the red gel food coloring until the batter is evenly colored.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  8. Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
  9. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top to create a ‘blood’ effect.
  10. Place red candy melts on the frosting to resemble vampire fangs.

Notes

  • For a richer chocolate flavor, consider using dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
  • These cupcakes can be made a day in advance and stored in an airtight container.
