Description

Toxic Waste Mac & Cheese is a unique and eye-catching dish that combines traditional mac and cheese with vibrant, unexpected ingredients to create a visually striking meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika, cooking for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve a ‘toxic’ look.
  7. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with additional cheese or toppings if desired.
