- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup strawberry jam
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth; let it rise for 1 hour.
- In another bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the cream cheese mixture, and top with chopped strawberries and strawberry jam.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
- Feel free to substitute strawberries with other berries.
- These rolls are best served warm.
