- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, milk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped pecans, and flour.
- Sprinkle the pecan mixture over the sweet potato layer.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of white sugar.
- Can be made a day ahead and reheated before serving.
- Feel free to add mini marshmallows on top for a sweeter touch.
