Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form loose balls.
  3. Place the beef balls on the hot skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
  4. Season the patties with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms, then flip the patties.
  6. Top each patty with a slice of cheese (optional) and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. While the burgers are cooking, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder to make the house sauce.
  8. Toast the burger buns on the skillet until golden brown.
  9. Assemble the burgers by spreading house sauce on the bottom bun, adding the patty, lettuce, tomato, and pickles, then topping with the top bun.
