Description

Mummy Meatloaf is a fun and spooky twist on a classic family dinner, perfect for Halloween or any time you want to add a little creativity to your meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough
  • 2 olives, sliced (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish.
  4. Spread marinara sauce over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into strips. Wrap the strips around the meatloaf to create a mummy effect.
  6. Place the sliced olives on top of the meatloaf for eyes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
  8. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
  • Serve with a side of mashed potatoes or a salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
