Description

Mummy Meatloaf is a fun and festive dish perfect for Halloween, designed to look like a mummy with a delicious meatloaf base wrapped in pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 package of crescent roll dough
  • 2 olives for eyes
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
  4. Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut it into strips. Wrap the strips around the meatloaf to create a mummy effect.
  6. Place two olives on top of the meatloaf for eyes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add some chili powder to the meat mixture.
  • Make sure to check the internal temperature of the meatloaf; it should reach 160°F (70°C).
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal.
