Description

Delicious and fluffy apple cinnamon rolls perfect for fall, filled with sweet apples and cinnamon, and topped with a creamy glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 12 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture, then gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread melted butter over it.
  7. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced apples evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk until smooth.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over warm rolls and serve.
