Description

A deliciously moist loaf cake infused with the flavors of apple cider and topped with a cinnamon sugar coating, perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the apple cider.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and granulated sugar for the topping, then sprinkle it over the batter.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
