- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (American or cheddar)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp pickle relish
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Lettuce and tomato for topping
Instructions
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form loose balls.
- Place the beef balls on the skillet and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Season the patties with salt and pepper.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms, then flip the patties.
- Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty and cook for an additional minute until melted.
- While the burgers are cooking, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl to make the secret sauce.
- Toast the burger buns on the skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the secret sauce on the bottom bun, adding the patty, and topping with lettuce and tomato.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
