Description

Deliciously rich brownies with a spooky cream cheese swirl, perfect for Halloween celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon orange food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon black food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar and egg yolk until smooth.
  7. Divide the brownie batter in half and mix one half with orange food coloring and the other half with black food coloring.
  8. Pour the orange batter into the prepared pan, followed by dollops of the black batter, and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top and swirl again gently.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense color, add more food coloring as desired.
  • These brownies can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Feel free to add Halloween-themed sprinkles on top before baking for extra decoration.
