Description

A spooky and fun lasagna recipe perfect for Halloween gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or sausage
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black olives (for decoration)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, half of the ground meat, and a third of the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers, finishing with a final layer of noodles and marinara sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Decorate with black olives to create ghostly faces and garnish with fresh basil.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add more vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
  • Can be prepared a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Feel free to customize the cheese blend to your liking.
