Delicious meatballs infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup, served with a savory onion sauce.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, half of the chopped onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the remaining chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add the meatballs to the skillet and brown on all sides.
- Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over them.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- Serve hot with the savory onion sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce.
- These meatballs can be served with pasta or on a sub roll for a meatball sandwich.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
