Description

A delicious and elegant appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy goat cheese and sweet figs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh figs, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh thyme, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares or circles, depending on your preference.
  4. In a bowl, mix the goat cheese and chopped figs until well combined.
  5. Place a spoonful of the goat cheese and fig mixture in the center of each pastry piece.
  6. Fold the pastry over to create a pocket and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and drizzle with honey and garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the goat cheese mixture.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
  • Serve warm for the best taste.
