Description

Delicious salted caramel apple bars perfect for fall, combining sweet apples and rich caramel in a buttery crust.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until combined.
  5. Press half of the dough into the bottom of a greased baking pan.
  6. In another bowl, toss the diced apples with cinnamon and layer them over the crust.
  7. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  8. Crumb the remaining dough over the top of the caramel and apples.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Can be served warm with ice cream for an extra treat.
