Description

Eyeball Pasta is a fun and spooky dish featuring meatballs with mozzarella ‘eyes’ that are perfect for Halloween or any themed party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small balls
  • Black olives, sliced (for pupils)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove the meatballs from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  6. Using a small knife, create a small indentation on top of each meatball and place a mozzarella ball in the indentation.
  7. Add a slice of black olive on top of each mozzarella ball to create the ‘pupil’.
  8. Heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan and serve the meatballs in the sauce.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute meatballs with plant-based alternatives.
  • Feel free to add herbs or spices to the meatball mixture for extra flavor.
  • Serve with spaghetti for a complete meal.
