Description

Cookies & Scream Spider Cupcakes are a fun and spooky dessert perfect for Halloween celebrations, featuring chocolate cupcakes topped with a creamy frosting and decorated to look like creepy spiders.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate candies for spider bodies
  • Licorice strings for spider legs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
  7. Once cooled, frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting.
  8. To create the spider, place a chocolate candy in the center of the frosted cupcake and use licorice strings to create legs.
