Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, spices, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and molasses to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  9. For icing, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over cooled cookies.
