Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of Oreo cookies (approximately 36 cookies)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 16 oz chocolate (milk or dark, for coating)
- Sprinkles or crushed candy canes for decoration
Instructions
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos with the softened cream cheese until well blended.
- Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.
- While the truffles are chilling, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler.
- Once the truffles are firm, dip each one into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Place the coated truffles back on the parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with decorations like sprinkles or crushed candy canes.
- Allow the chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
Notes
- For a different flavor, try using flavored Oreos or adding peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture.
- Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- These truffles make great gifts during the holiday season!
