- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the whole grain flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, orange juice, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

- For a more intense orange flavor, add orange zest to the batter.
