Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy chocolate cookies that are rolled in powdered sugar, creating a beautiful crinkle effect when baked.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Once chilled, scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  8. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  9. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are crinkled.
  11. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
  • Make sure to chill the dough to prevent the cookies from spreading too much.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
