- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine sweet corn, flour, cheese, milk, egg, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined and a thick batter forms.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add chopped jalapeños to the batter.
- These fritters can be baked instead of fried for a healthier option.
