- 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Steam the cauliflower florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Add the steamed cauliflower to the cream mixture and stir to coat.
- Transfer the cauliflower mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the cheese layer for added crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
