- 4 chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until dissolved.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken and let it caramelise.
- In a separate pot, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
- Once the chicken is caramelised, add it to the broth.
- Simmer for 15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
