Description

Butter Chicken is a rich and creamy dish made with marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato sauce, perfect for serving with naan or rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices for at least 1 hour.
  2. In a large pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring until well combined.
  6. Season with salt and garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes
