- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Warm the milk slightly and add the yeast, letting it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the banana mixture with the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the filling.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
- Serve warm with cream cheese frosting for an indulgent treat.
