Description

Delicious and fluffy banana cinnamon rolls that combine the sweetness of ripe bananas with the warm spice of cinnamon, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  2. Warm the milk slightly and add the yeast, letting it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Mix the banana mixture with the yeast mixture.
  4. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread with melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the filling.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
