- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm water and yogurt, then knead until a soft dough forms.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a ball.
- Roll out each ball into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Brush one side with melted butter and sprinkle minced garlic on top.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and place the naan garlic side down.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from skillet and brush with more melted butter, garnish with cilantro.
Notes
- For a softer naan, add a little more yogurt.
- Experiment with toppings like cheese or herbs.
- Store leftover naan in an airtight container.
