- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, egg, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread apple pie filling evenly on top.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over the filling and roll the dough tightly.
- Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of white sugar.
- Feel free to add nuts or raisins to the filling for extra texture.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
