Delicious and fluffy apple cinnamon rolls filled with sweet apples and cinnamon, topped with a creamy glaze.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over it.
- Evenly distribute the diced apples on top of the cinnamon mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk to create the glaze and drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter.
- Feel free to add nuts or raisins for extra texture.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
