Description

Delicious and fluffy apple cinnamon rolls filled with sweet apples and cinnamon, topped with a creamy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and egg, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over it.
  7. Evenly distribute the diced apples on top of the cinnamon mixture.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create the glaze and drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter.
  • Feel free to add nuts or raisins for extra texture.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
