- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add sugar, butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add flour and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and spread with softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh yeast.
- Let the rolls cool slightly before adding frosting.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
